Windows VPS we mean a Virtual Private Server that runs the operating system from Microsoft known as Windows Server. There are several different versions of Windows servers in use today, some using fewer system resources than others. When we mention Linux VPS we mean any Linux based operating system running on a Virtual Private Server. Since there are far more flavors of Linux than Windows we won’t go into too much detail on the different operating systems suffice it to say that the majority of them are free, except a few enterprise Linux distributions that come bundled with tech support (such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux).

Difference between Linux VPS and Windows VPS

Windows VPS Hosting is easier to use than Linux VPS. A common misconception is that the Windows VPS hosting  plans are easier to use by people who have never used Linux or by people who don’t know the Linux operating system. That may have been the case back in the late 1990s but these days if you know how to point and click and can fill out an online form you can use a Linux VPS hosting plan. The key thing to look for when selecting a plan is the type of control panel that is offered if any. The control panel is the interface that does all behind the scenes work for you allowing you to just point and click to set up new websites and control your Virtual server.
